It follows a tumultuous period marked by a motorbike crash, separation from his fiance, homelessness, and the death of his Girls bandmate, Chet "JR" White. Owens' previous album, Chrissybaby Forever (2015), fulfilled his three album contract with his label, which then dropped him. Efforts to secure new opportunities were unsuccessful, leading him to fear
