We personally like to use the General Finishes flat out flat sealer and most of the time we don’t need to scuff it

We recommend sealing with a water based (or not harsh solvent based) sealer (waxes created for chalk type paints also work well if they don’t contain harsh solvents)

Perfect to highlight the cracks created with the different crackle varnishes. Rub the paste onto the surface, then remove the excess with a dry cloth or a cloth dipped into turpentine based solvent.
